Our comfort is that we belong to Jesus. But who is He? Dr. Levi Berntson's class examines Christ's person, His two natures, and how He accomplishes our salvation from biblical and theological perspectives.

 

Throughout this course, you will learn about:

 

  1. The historical development and articulation of the doctrine of Christ.
  2. The doctrine of Christ's person and work from specific passages of Scripture.
  3. The doctrine of Christ outlined in the ecumenical creeds and Reformed confessions.
  4. Orthodox Christology from various heresies throughout the centuries.
  5. The Reformed doctrine of the work of Christ, especially the atonement.

Course Information:

  • The spring 2025 semester occurs from January 13, 2025 through May 16, 2025. Lectures will only be available to view during the semester.
  • One lecture is uploaded per week and viewable during the duration of the semester. Each lecture is about two hours and forty-five minutes long.
  • This course will be taught in alignment with Ligonier Ministries’ statement of faith and the consensus of the historic Reformed confessions as recorded in the Three Forms of Unity, Westminster Standards, and the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.

 

About the Instructor:

Dr. Levi Berntson is assistant professor of theology at Reformation Bible College. He is also a teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church in America. He earned his M.A. (Theological Studies) and M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Miss. and his Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen. He is the translator and editor of The Fundamentals of Sacred Theology.
